Busy Bee!

April has been a CRAZY busy month!  And my life isn’t close to slowing down, yet!  But I love it!

See, Chris and Jennifer, two of our good friends, got MARRIED on Saturday, April 24th. So, we had tons of stuff (showers, parties, get-togethers) leading up to their wedding.  Marc was a groomsman, so we enjoyed the rehearsal and dinner, as well as the wedding and reception.  We even drove them to the their hotel super early (1:00am) on Sunday morning.

This wedding has been eight years in the making – that’s how long they’ve been together – and we couldn’t be HAPPIER that they’re finally married! =.) Yay! =.)

A week before the wedding, all the girls went to a shower for Krystle, who is getting married in June.  Can’t wait for that wedding, either! =.) Yay! =.)

The shower – Krytle’s mom’s friends threw the shower, and I guess it was more of a party/play?/re-enactment thing?  And, we were all sworn to secrecy, so I can only show you some of the pictures.  It was hilarious.  I haven’t laughed this much in seriously FOREVER!  It was great!! =.)

We celebrated Allie’s 5th Birthday with my family on Sunday.  I so love my nieces! =.)  It was a great time!

My calendar is full until Kurt & Krystle’s wedding in June! =.)  This weekend, we’re going to Charlotte for Krystle’s Bachelorette Weekend!  Can’t wait!  Tons of fun planned with some my absolute favorite girls! =.) The boys are gone next weekend for the bachelor party.  I’ll be attending Prom Dress Bowling with the youth from our church.  It’s gonna be a blast, and I’m excited to spend time with these amazing ladies and other gals from my life group! =.) The next weekend, I’m attending a baby shower, then another bridal shower for Krystle, a couple’s shower the next weekend, then a break for Memorial Day. =.)

I’m tired just thinking about it! =.) It’ll be great, though.  Then we’ll get a break after June 13th.

Happy Birthday, Allie Kat! =.)

Seriously, it’s hard to believe all that has happened in 5 years.

Five years and one day ago, I got a call from my big brother, Brock.  He told me that, “It was time.”  He and Wendy were going to the hospital.  I couldn’t sleep.  I was so ridiculously excited! =.) He had called late on a Friday night, and told me not to worry about driving down, just to come in the morning.

See, I was in my senior year at Appalachian, and I had a 2.5 hour drive home.  So, around 5:30 a.m., I finally got up.  Trying to sleep was useless.  I just couldn’t do it.  So, I got up and took my shower.  I threw some clothes in a bag, and started home around 7:30 a.m.

I drove straight to the hospital with no news that I was an aunt, yet.

About 5 minutes after I got to the hospital, my brother walks into the waiting room to announce that Allie Katherine was here.I was so happy, as was everyone else.  The above picture was taken a few hours after her birth.  She is my first niece, and she holds a special place in my heart! =.)

Allie was my flower girl in our wedding.  She was 11 months old, and Brock carried her down the aisle.  So precious! =.) This is Allie at 3 years old in her first horse show, on her pony, Sugarfoot. =.) Allie and me last year on her 4th birthday.  I love this girl! =.) And this is Allie 2 weeks ago at her T-Ball game.

It’s really hard to believe how much she has grown.  She is so special and I just love her to pieces! =.)

I’ve got no one thing to complete a full blog post, so you’ll get bullets…

• I’ve been reading so many blogs, that by the time I sit to think of my own blog to write, I’ve got nothing.  I’m sorry, but I’m in a bit of a slump on blog posts.
• I don’t have an open weekend until the middle of May.  It’s probably gonna be exhausting, but so, so much fun! =.)
• I’m hosting a few girls over for pizza and wine tonight.  Should be great!  Our friends, Chris and Jennifer, are getting married April 24th, so the girls are giving Jennifer a little “Honeymoon” shower. =.) Yay!
• I’m going shopping with my Mama and grandma tomorrow.  To Hobby Lobby and then Olive Garden.  Can’t wait!
• I’m going out tomorrow night to celebrate Katie’s birthday. =.) Should be a lot of fun!
• Marc’s in Beaufort until Sunday for a bachelor party.  I miss him already.  I don’t like falling asleep without him in town.  He doesn’t have to be home if he’s out with the guys around home, and I can sleep just fine.  If he’s out of town…completely different story. =.(
• I’ve been going between extremes at work – completely busy with no time to breathe, to completely bored with nothing left to look at online.  I can only refresh facebook so many times an hour.  Seriously.
• I’m so glad that it rained last night.  This yellow fairy dust, otherwise known as pollen, is ridiculous this year.  I’m glad it’s going away! =.)
• I’m feeling crafty, but I don’t know what I want to do.  I have a birthday present I need to work on for an August birthday.  Yes, you read that right, August.  But I want it to be great! =.)
• I need to make more money.  Or I need my mortgage payment decreased, as well as my health insurance.  I hate making those payments each month! =.) Makes me feel like I make nothing! (I’m not complaining – I’m lucky to have a job.  I know this.  I’m just saying…=.))
• My almost 2 year old niece got a concussion two weeks ago.  She’s fine, but she’s gonna be a handful (as if she isn’t already!! =.)).  Precious!
• I don’t have a single picture from Easter.  I know.  What’s wrong with me?!? =.)
• We had a GREAT service at Easter, and record attendance at 630.  For a 4 year old church…not too bad! =.) Love seeing new people!
• I feel like I should have something else to write, but I just don’t.
