Boring

So, I know I'm getting boring without the pictures to show you, but I'm working on that...give me just a little more time, please! =.)

It snowed on Tuesday, and it was beautiful! I enjoyed it even more than the first snow we got in 2008 because it snowed enough for a Snow Day! =.) I know people who are from up north just don't understand why the whole Triangle Area of NC can shut down completely because of a few inches, or less, of the beautiful powdery, bright white stuff. But it does, and I love it! After going to school at ASU, and it snowing from November through April, I miss it! Not that actually got snow days up there, not often enough, anyways, but it's just so pretty! And in NO WAY does the snow in Hillsborough compare to the snow in Boone - HUGE difference, but that's not the point. It's beautiful, and I love it! =.)

Weekend Update

Oh my gosh, I hated not having a computer this weekend! Marc was out of town. He and his brother Matt went down to South Carolina for a surprise trip for their dad's birthday. They played golf Saturday morning, and did lots of other "man" stuff together. They had a great time, and I'm glad they could make the trip down. =.) But that left me alone at home. And I would have loved to blog, but our computer is still out of commission, and I couldn't get my work laptop hooked up to our internet. Very frustrating. I can't wait 'til we can get our own laptop and wireless internet. Oh, well...maybe sometime this year, that will happen.

Let me start by saying that I'm not a person who always needs someone else around. I really enjoy time to myself to think and just be (and be lazy). So, this weekend alone, after the crazy week I had, was not so bad. But it gets lonely, especially when I live so far from most of our friends. I am thankful that my Mama and Daddy are so close, though! =.) They were watching Allie and Ava Saturday evening so Brock and Wendy could go out, so I got to hang out with my nieces. I just love those girls! Ava's only 7 months, but I love feeding her and rocking her to sleep. Babies are just so precious! And Ava's crawling! It's just adorable. I can't wait for her to start walking, although I'm sure Wendy would like a few more months without having to make sure everything it up and out of reach. And Allie - she's such a good sister. She loves Ava so much, and just loves to love on her. Children are just amazing creations of God, and I'm so blessed to watch Allie, Ava, and Karleigh grow up.

I also spent a lot of time on Saturday getting my Mary Kay stuff ready for taxes. So, I pulled all of my sales receipts, shipment receipts, and other expense receipts together so Marc isn't waiting on me this year. I got my statement from church for our donations there. So, all that's left are our W-2s.

And speaking of tax forms, I must go get busy at work. Here's to hoping this week goes by a little faster than last week, and that I get much more done! =.)

Workin' for the weekend...

Okay, so this is the first full week of work since the week before Christmas, and boy has it been a LONG week! Since I work in a real estate office, no one is ever around on the holidays, so the past 2 weeks have been really quiet. My job is really crazy at the end of each month - I have to close out the month and transmit data to our international office within the first 3 business days of the month. That means I have to get closings in from agents, review the financial data, and close out everything, plus have it reviewed and approved by the bosses. So, last Friday was a weird day because it was the day after New Year's Day, and it just kind of felt like a vacation day at work.

Anyways, so I get in on Monday and have to get busy, only we have a new office manager, and I'm the "Go To" person, so I stayed busy with her all day. Then, all of the agents decided to come to work, so they needed things done, and I helped them. Needless to say, I didn't get anything done before 5, when I'm supposed to leave, and I ended up staying at work 'til after 7:30. Wouldn't be so bad if I got paid for it, but I'm salaried, so...you know. Tuesday wasn't much better because we had our first office meeting of the year, and even more people were in and out and distracting. I got everything done that I needed, but now I need to get stuff ready so I can send out 1099s and W-2s, and all those other fun end-of-year stuff.

Moving on, though - I'm ready for Friday! =.) The other staff and I were looking at our next "vacation" day (we don't get Martin Luther King, Jr. day - we get Easter), and it's not until Good Friday, which is April 10th. That just feels like forever away! We do what we do, though, because at least I have a job to come in to every day, with people I enjoy doing something I'm good at.

Wii Fit

So, for Christmas, my Mama and Daddy got me a Wii Fit. Last year, they got Marc and I a Wii. Marc decided that 2009 was the year of "not fat," so he's determined to get "fit." I don't really expect that he nor I will be able to lose a lot of weight using only the Wii Fit, but it is definitely fun! =.) It's quite amusing to watch someone Hoola Hoop, without an actual Hoola Hoop. My favorite thing about it, though, is that you can choose to weigh in every time you're on the balance board. You just put in your height when you initialize the first time you play, and you go through a body test. We had a lot of family and friends with the Fit, so we had heard stories, and I was NOT looking forward to the whole weigh-in process/experience. Luckily, it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. In addition to weighing you, it also tells you your BMI, and what a normal BMI is - and where you are in comparison. So, every time you do a body test, it will tell you how much you've lost, or gained, from the last time you did a body test. I'm hoping that this will keep us accountable to our goals.

We were on our way to New Years Day lunch, and we discussed all of our goals/plans for 2009. I hate to call them resolutions, because we never follow through with those. So, this year, I'm calling them goals. I'm going to make a poster with pictures, etc of our goals, and then put it somewhere in the house where we'll see it on a regular basis. I'm a visual person, so I need to see it. =.)

I'm excited about 2009. We have lots of plans to follow through with, and it's very promising! =.)

Grrr...

So, I finally posted my Christmas post - I had it saved as a draft and was giong to wait until I got my pictures uploaded (because really, they're just more fun to look at), but my computer at home is being a pest, so we had to take it to get fixed. So...I'm not sure how long I'll be without my computer, but I won't be able to post my pictures until I get it back.

So...enjoy my ramblings, and you can look forward to the pictures, later. =.)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
